A Passport can be TRICKY
Covid-19 is still dominating life right now. Grocery stores are limited, some stores have limited hours, and that includes offices that run the passport applications/processing. when I logged onto the government website to locate a facility near us, there wasn't a single office located in Utah that even pulled up!! So, I got on the phone and the girl on the opposite end informed me that we could go to the West Jordan post office.
I got the proper documents together, made copies so we had them along with the originals, and Kaitlyn headed out the door to see if we could get it submitted and off to process. I was off looking at new rock for the swimming pool with Tyler but she checked in and said it was a no go. The machine to process was down and the gentleman working the counter was unable to help because he didn't know how to do that. c'mon...seriously?! So I met her at home and we logged on to see if we could find somewhere to go.
Saturday was here and she headed out the Sandy City Post Office. The gal at the desk there was super kind and helpful and told her to make an appointment with Sandy City and that would be the quickest way. She called and said she was going to try one more stop at the Lehi post office but that after that she would be home. I was at the nursery with Tyler looking at shrubs and trees when she called and said the Lehi post office was a bust but that she submitted for an appointment at Sandy City for that afternoon and was just waiting for approval to come in.
The phone call finally came in and she had an appointment at Sandy City! She gathered up all her things and away she went. The sweet lady that had helped her was there and got all the paperwork and fingerprints submitted and now we wait for the arrival of her little blue passport book. Covid has sure made some things tricky and we are still unknown on if Brazil will be a final destination for Kaitlyn on her mission but for now...we scurry along and do all we can in order to ready ourselves.
Having this step done and taken care of is sure nice so that when and/or if we get the call that a VISA can be started, we have one more 'to do' already taken care of.
Xoxo,
Missionary Momma
