Who is Sister Williams?

 

Kaitlyn's home CTM companion is a sweet gal named Sister Williams. They have clicked since day 1 and I love listening to Kaitlyn share about her. She is local, sorta. She lives down in Nephi and has 1 older sister who was married this last year and 2 younger brothers. 

Kaitlyn and Sister Williams decided they were going to take an opportunity to meet in person. They could after all meet 1/2 way in Orem and get to see the whole person rather than just from the chest up on a Zoom call. :) I loved the idea and was excited to help facilitate this.

We met up at the Leatherby's ice cream shop at 7:30pm. We were the first to arrive so we got ourselves a table and waited. Kaitlyn was getting anxious and she started to chat. Her words began to come out more and more quickly as the minutes passed by but I knew immediately when Sister Williams had walked in. Kaitlyn go the biggest grin on her face!

Sister Williams and her Mom joined us and these two sweet girls chatted and laughed so hard for a good almost 3 hours! We kept them out way past missionary bedtime but I am okay with that. It was so good for Kaitlyn to be out of the house but it was even better that she got to meet this sweet companion she has shared the last 4 weeks with via Zoom calls, companion studies, district counsels, and had in her thoughts and prayers. 

I am so glad that we were able to make this meeting happen. It was so fun to meet this sweet girl and her Mom and to watch this friendship unfold in front of my eyes. These two girls are going to be AMAZING missionaries! 

Yay for Companion meeting!

Good morning Brothers and Sisters. I am excited to be here with you this morning. Not because I up here speaking but because we are here to listen to Kaitlyn report on her mission which means she is actually home! Thank you all for being here and for the support you have shown her throughout her time away. I also want to say hello to Elder Garcia who is hopefully able to have good enough wi-fi to join us today in Africa.  When I posed the question to Kaitlyn who she wanted to have speak with her I knew deep down she wanted Brooklyn but I also knew that Brooklyn had told both missionaries that if either of them asked her to talk she would simply not come to church that day at all and she was fine to miss their homecomings. Week 1 Email: I have a new Mom

Well now it's Sister Garcia ;) I'm officially a missionary, which is so crazy to think about! During the online MTC my Pdays are Saturdays so you can expect an update from me every Saturday for the next 6 weeks. The CTM has been amazing so far! :) If I'm being honest I was super nervous to start and I didn't really know what to expect from it, but I'm so glad I've been able to do my training at home. My schedule that I was sent was all in Brazil time and it said that most of my classes were to start at 8:30am. I don't know if any of you know this, but Brazil is 4 hours ahead of Utah, you can do that math, it was supposed to be early! Luckily it's been changed and now my classes don't start until 9:30am Utah time. They like to keep us busy that's for sure! I already have to memorize and learn cer...
