Fathers Day, June 20, 2021

Sister Garcia was able to call home today and visit with Tyler for a short minute and wish him a Happy Father's Day. It was so great that she would consider him important enough to make sure that he was on her call list. He had his kids over and I was anxious at what that might look like for both him and for Sister Garcia but he only was 'weird Tyler' for a minute and then I reminded him that she didn't have a long time to talk so just chat with her . In the end he just told me that it made him feel good that she would call him and talk to him.

It also looks like she was able to call and talk with her Dad as well. She said it was fine and mostly a quick call because he had football kids to attend to. I hope that she doesn't let the feelings of less important in his life ruin the work she is doing or the fact that she yet again was the one to extend the olive branch and create some sort of a relationship there.

Good morning Brothers and Sisters. I am excited to be here with you this morning. Not because I up here speaking but because we are here to listen to Kaitlyn report on her mission which means she is actually home! Thank you all for being here and for the support you have shown her throughout her time away. I also want to say hello to Elder Garcia who is hopefully able to have good enough wi-fi to join us today in Africa.  When I posed the question to Kaitlyn who she wanted to have speak with her I knew deep down she wanted Brooklyn but I also knew that Brooklyn had told both missionaries that if either of them asked her to talk she would simply not come to church that day at all and she was fine to miss their homecomings. Week 1 Email: I have a new Mom

Well now it's Sister Garcia ;) I'm officially a missionary, which is so crazy to think about! During the online MTC my Pdays are Saturdays so you can expect an update from me every Saturday for the next 6 weeks. The CTM has been amazing so far! :) If I'm being honest I was super nervous to start and I didn't really know what to expect from it, but I'm so glad I've been able to do my training at home. My schedule that I was sent was all in Brazil time and it said that most of my classes were to start at 8:30am. I don't know if any of you know this, but Brazil is 4 hours ahead of Utah, you can do that math, it was supposed to be early! Luckily it's been changed and now my classes don't start until 9:30am Utah time. They like to keep us busy that's for sure! I already have to memorize and learn cer...
