Subject: That didn't last long...
Happy happy Sunday how are you? How was your past week? Any news on
friends joining you at church this week? Anything fun and/or exciting
take place this last week? Did you end up being able to take to Brynlee
at all last Monday? What did Brittan have to say about this news?
Our week here started out just fine. Ending?? We will get to that. Tyler
spent over 3 hours in the dental chair for what should have been maybe
an hour. Needless to say he sure didn’t enjoy the rest of his day. I had
a laser hair removal appointment and when I got there was told they had
a new laser that should take care of hair removal in like 4 or 5
sessions. I am 7 in but this was #1 with a new laser. Well, holy cow.
The laser was intense and I just kept holding my breath and clenching
fingers to get through it all. Remember I have pretty much everything
being treated so…wowza. I came home and my legs had red spots all over
them and getting in a shower the next day, no thanks. It felt like a
sunburn and the water hurt terribly. But..off I went to get my lips done
the next day. As I walked in my laser girl Anne asked how I was
feeling. I told her how bad things were and she just stood there and
finally said she was sorry. After my appointment the laser maintenance
guy came and the settings she used for me the day before were 2 too
high!!’ It’s Sunday and I still have been makes and what I am concerned
will be scars. I will be super frustrated if so and I am afraid Tyler
will want to look legally at some responsibility. (He is right but I
sure don’t want to go there you know?)
Tyler stayed at the cabin while the new carpet was installed. It isn’t
the color we thought it would be but it sure looks nice and makes the
difference to have nice soft comfy pad under your toes and I love that
it all matches! We headed up on Friday to get what we could put back
together and to paint the room upstairs that B stays in since that is
where stuff for shuffled to for carpet to go in. Tyler went up first
since he was stopping at RC Willey to pick up a new bed for our room up
there and to try and get the back bedroom set up for B to sleep in. B
and I headed up after she got out of school.
Before she got out of school though we were put under a new 30 day mask
mandate for Salt Lake County. The corona has a new strand called omicron
(much milder than the delta) that is causing numbers here to climb into
new cases daily in the high high thousands. But they don’t tell you
what string you have if you test positive so blah blah blah.
Anyways…needless to say I was super angry and still am but we will see
how it all plays out. We attended church without a mask and I believe
Brooklyn will take one to school tomorrow but has no plans to wear it. I
am tired of playing games. We masked, we stayed home, we home schooled,
graduated online, got vaccinated and now boostered as well and yet here
we are 2 full calendar years in and back to masks that clearly didn’t
work the first time or we wouldn’t be dealing with any of this. So
frustrating.
Ahhhh good times. Be so grateful to be a missionary and not in the mess
here at home! I sure love you and hope you have had a great Sunday.
Love you to the moon and back
