Subject: It's not Sunday yet!
Hey!
How are you? How was your week? How
was the rest of your week after we got a chance to talk while you were
at your big activity? Did you guys end up staying there much longer or
did you end up leaving? It is late Saturday night but hey! I am online
and working on an email that might have a little more sustenance to it
than last week. I am calling this a total win! :)
Things
here this week have been fine. A little slow moving and I am still good
with that. Brooklyn started her rise tests this week and she also
started her private lessons for volleyball. Her rise tests so far
haven't been too too terrible and she said they were 'fine'. Whatever
that translates into for you coming from a 14 year old...you got it! :)
Volleyball was good. She was so nervous but excited when I dropped her
off. The coach is a coach. This isn't just about fun or learning. It is
about getting it all in so that when you go to tryouts you don't look
like a fool. It was really good for B and I think she really enjoyed it a
lot. A lot even in that Tyler ordered a practice net for her for the
backyard and then we ordered 12 more volleyballs and a roll around cart
to hold them in for her so we can be out back practicing with her as
often as she wants. Which this week has been a lot and it has been so
fun to have her include us in that. We spent one night for almost 2.5
hours while she worked on her serving. She is pretty good. I am hopeful
for her. I also found out that Mtn Ridge does a Summer camp from
June-July three times a week and she is stoked about doing that too. I
want her to succeed and so whatever we need to do to help her along the
way I am happy to do so. :) Maybe you could keep her in your prayers
too?
Most of my week has really been
focused on getting a new computer set up. I hate getting new computers!
You have to make sure all of your hard drive crap gets stored somewhere
so you can add it to the new one and then all of your log ins and
passwords aren't saved. Your favorite pages and just your regular day to
day stuff is a mess. Plus I have the two monitors and for whatever
reason one of them isn't registering which makes me trying to multi
task...notsogood. I just get angry most of the day but instead of
letting it take over I just walk away. HA!
Dresden
turned 8 this week on Thursday too so I made up some dinosaur cookies
and took them to him. I agreed to do some cookies for the great to be 8
program this next week so I need to do those but other than that...I
have a few I want to try but only because I dreamt about them last
night! Seriously...3 cookies. That is all I need to cut. I want to see
if I can make them happen like I did in my dream. Stay tuned. I will
keep you posted.
When I was dreaming about
cookies I also started to panic about Lake Powell and getting things
started and getting an idea of what we need to get together and how we
go about assigning things to those that will be joining us. I clearly
didn't sleep well so I was up getting a cover sheet made up to email as
well as a shopping list started as well as a packing list suggestion to
email over as well. As of right now we have us, the Millers, Tyler's
friend Charles and his wife and their 4 kids, Tyler's friend Clint and
his wife and their 3 kids, Katherine, and maybe Brett and Lindsay Wright
and their 3 kids. (If the Wrights come....Jaime is going to be FURIOUS!
It will be awesome!) I have a lot of work to do for Powell but I just
need to really commit to sitting down to my computer and doing the work.
I just get so tired of sitting in my chair and it hurts my body. I am
old what else can I say?
Next week is
looking pretty bleak. B has volleyball again on Monday that she is
really excited about. I am so glad. It is fun to see her excited about
anything most days right now. Tyler is doing the diet thing again so we
have a weigh in on Monday too but not until the afternoon. I have
cookies to get done and hand off by Tuesday night, the pool should be
acid washed on Thursday since they cancelled on us for yesterday, and
then I have an appointment for my car downtown on Friday morning for its
20,000 mile check. Low key but also room for stuff to get added in as
well. I am sure something more will come up but for now I am going to
relish in quiet.
Tomorrow is Mothers Day
so I don't want to end my email without telling you thanks. Thanks for
choosing me among the throngs of choices I am certain you had. I know I
am far from perfect and man alive do I have a lot of learning still yet
to do but you were the first one to give me the title of Mom and you
have been so patient and wonderful as I have trudged along trying to do
my very best. I knew I always wanted to be a Mom but to be a Mom to
someone like you takes it next level. You have, since the day I met you,
continued day in and day out to make me better. You make so proud with
each choice you make and each breath you take. I have thoroughly loved
watching you grow up into this amazing adult who is more capable than
you know. Thanks for being patient and loving with me over these years.
Mothers Day is a silly holiday in my opinion. I get the chance to
celebrate three amazing kids every single day of my life and that to me
is what being a Mom is. I don't need a day about it because I get 364
others every single year. :) Thanks again for not just choosing me but
for allowing me to be your Mom and now friend too. It really is my
greatest title in the world.
I love you to
the moon and back. I hope you have the best Sunday and can feel of my
love for you from home as well as the love your Heavenly Father has for
you as well. I hope to have a chance to talk to you on Monday. In the
meantime, keep being you and keep doing all the really amazing things
you do each day. Keep that smile on your face and the prayer in your
heart and all good things will happen. I love you!
